Stroudsmoor wishes to mothers-to-be Showers of Happiness!
Whether you are planning a baby shower or a baby staycation, Stroudsmoor is at your service with packages for both. Here is what one new mom had to say about her Stroudsmoor Celebrations:
“I wanted you to know how beautiful today was and how much I truly enjoyed my Baby Shower. I could not have created a more special day. You made that possible for us! I want you to know that the Stroudsmoor is much more than a physical place to us. Of course, the aesthetics of the venues are nothing less than stunning and so they speak for themselves, but the complete beauty comes from within, and that is because of YOU.
Since the first day we met and you helped me plan my Dream Wedding, you and I always shared a wonderful relationship. You make us feel right at home, every time. You go out of your way to make sure every detail is taken care of. The rest of the staff that helped us was also so wonderful. The compliments were on repeat all day! Thank you so very much!! Thank you for everything!!!! What should we plan next?!"Donna Marie
Here are some examples of how to make planning a shower fit a theme:
Unique:
The Display Shower – the most traditional showers find the mom-to-be spending hours unwrapping gifts with miles of ribbon and bows at her feet. The Display Shower uniquely puts an end to all of that by having guests bring their gifts unwrapped. The shower host then displays each and every gift in a charming array with cards affixed for opening another day. This type of shower celebration often features an activity like . . .
Baby/Bride Category – every guest gets an alphabet list, to the list they add a word relating to the baby or parents-to-be for each letter.
As an example:
- A = animal nursery – as planned by the parents
- B = boy names – Bob, Brandon, Bradley, or one of many others
- C = christening – knowing that the couple is Christian
The guest with the most accurate portrayal of the new family, wins a prize!

Other unique ways to celebrate the parents-to-be are:
- Send them on a Babymoon
- Have a Paint & Sip party – paint the nursery while sipping mocktails
- Visit Virtually – for those parents with families far, far away
Boutique:
A fashionable shower, featuring only fashion-able gifts! Perfect for the first-time mom who has no hand-me-downs, or the fashionista-mama! All gifts come wrapped with receipts to allow for returns depending on the birth of a boy or girl.
Other boutique gifts and theme ideas . . .
- Fashionable diapers – organic, bio-degradable, or hypoallergenic, printed patterns, pastel colors, or just classic white in sizes from new born to pull up panties! Or, give the gift of never-ending diapers (Diaper Subscription – IncrediBundles.com)
- Maternity Clothing from the new mom’s favorite store – or clothes for after baby is born, complemented by spa treatments, yoga lessons, salon appointments and promises of babysitting service so she can enjoy her gifts.
- Shop Local – tell shower guest to purchase from only boutique stores for mom and baby. Each gift comes with an invitation to lunch or brunch at a local food establishment or the gift-giver’s home when baby is born.
- Boutique event facilities for the sophisticated touch. Choose to celebrate in a boutique hotel, a celebrity restaurant, a day spa, or have breakfast at Tiffany’s and give baby their first little blue box! Just remember to think outside the box and find a location to complement Mom’s style.
Antique:
A yester-year theme can feature almost anything that evokes a memory of or for the parents-to-be, or the guests attending.
Here are some ideas for making vintage memories:
- Guests bring a photo of mom or dad when they were babies and tell a story of when and where it was taken.
- Bring a book read to children in the family to pass on to the new parents.
- Pass on a christening gown, or baby’s first layette.
- Knit or crochet baby clothing with a story telling who taught you the craft.
- Plan to celebrate in a museum, a rose garden, historic manor, or a country Inn.
Plan to play a game like one of these:
- “Do you Remember?” – The host asks each guest to send a photo of them with the mom or dad. Upon receipt of all the photos a slideshow is made. On the day of the shower the slides are shown and each guest tells of the memory around the photo. The host makes a written record of the stories and presents both the photos and memory to the parents, so someday they will pass them on to their child.
- “What do you remember?” – Fill a tray with baby items and pass it around, allowing each person only has a few seconds to memorize the items. Then ask each to write down what they remember. The person or persons remembering the most items correctly would be awarded a prize – perhaps a vintage bottle of wine!
There are many more ways to celebrate the impending birth of a new family member, so be creative! Or, call Stroudsmoor to assist with the perfect baby shower or reveal.
Another lovely accolade ...
“I wanted to thank you and your staff for all you did for my daughter's baby shower! The venue was absolutely beautiful and the food and dessert were delicious. Your staff were very helpful and so attentive to everyone there.
I have gotten many compliments on how beautiful everything looked and how good the food was. I am very happy how everything turned out and would recommend Stroudsmoor to anyone!
Many thanks!"Karen Ruck
